Since the dishwasher was brand new and he couldn’t find where that part came from, he chalked it up as an extra part and a problem caused by the manufacturer of the dishwasher. This allowed us to fall under the warranty and the cost of the appliance repair tech was paid for by the dishwasher’s warranty.

Its important to get those warranty card mailed in because the warranty is free for the first year and you never know what might happen, just like what my wife and I experienced. Calling a qualified appliance repair technician is extremely important because they know exactly what to look for and will know of ‘known’ issues with the brand of appliance you have. Even if you are outside of your warranty, a simple fix to your broken appliance might be the difference of a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars in savings. A simple fix might cost $75, while a new appliance can cost between $300-$2000.
